Our Labor Day weekend was wonderful! I definitely needed a little break from school to rest!
Our weekend started on Friday night with a date out to eat. It was yummy, but we were so tired from work that we just went home to relax afterwards. I think I ended up going to bed at 9:30!
Fiona was snuggling between us on the couch and I had to take her picture. She was so sweet and sleepy and cute. I just love her so much.
She knows when I am taking her picture. She stays very still like she knows I want her to!
On Saturday we got a Papa Murphy's pizza and made some chocolate chip cookies and had a date night in. We watched the movie The Private Lives of Pippa Lee. It was a very interesting movie. It was a great day!
Sunday, we didn't do much at all, which was perfect!
On Labor Day, the weather was perfect. Mid 80s! This is so exciting because we've had 58 days of over 100 temps. It has been horrible. It actually felt like fall, which made me thrilled. Me and Fi hung out in the backyard a bit this morning.
Beautiful Oklahoma sky
It was windy!
Fiona was loving it! She just laid herself down and was taking it all in!
CUTEST dog in the world!
Trey and I decided to go to Lake Hefner and have a picnic. It was the perfect weather for it and Lake Hefner is gorgeous!
Here is a very windy pic of us! :)
Our view while we ate
We picked up City Bites on the way for our lunch.
Their cookies are the best, especially the birthday cookie, which is my favorite!
It was so peaceful.
Maybe one day we'll have a boat...
The water is so low due to the extreme heat, but it was still beautiful.
I love the lighthouse. It makes me feel like I'm in Nantucket.
So pretty
We really enjoyed ourselves. And I can't wait to do this more often now that fall is coming!
One of the restaurants on the lake and more boats.
You can see the line on the rocks that shows how high the water usually is. It is VERY low right now.
We had a wonderful, peaceful Labor day!
We ended it by going to the best grocery store. It almost felt like a Kroger! It's sad how exciting that was to me! :)
Oh, and I've been meaning to get a pic of this. There is a cow pasture at the entrance of our neighborhood and it is covered in PRAIRIE DOGS! I couldn't believe it the first time I saw them. They don't have prairie dogs in Tennessee or Mississippi. They are really cute and somewhat remind me of Fiona! There are tons of them, though and they have little mounds of dirt from their digging that they stand on. This is the best pic I could get!
This week will be pretty fast for me because tomorrow is a professional development day. So, I only have to teach for three days! Then, it's weekend time! WOOHOO! Have a great week!

6 chirps:
Fiona is so adorable! I love the sleepy pictures. Hope you have a great three day-ish weekend!
sounds like a great long weekend! Gorgeous pictures. My husband proposed to me in front of that lighthouse :) We have been enjoying the weather today as well!
Beautiful weekend and the weather was refreshing after the summer we've just experienced. Looks like you and your honey had a good time. I teach part-time at a private preschool, but we're on the same schedule as you. Although you have a prof dev day, I get the day off so one more sweet day at home for me. Fall will be here soon!
Sounds like a perfect weekend with perfect weather!
I love picnics :).
We love Papa Murphy's! I love Lake Hefner. I've never seen the water that low, so that's crazy to me!
i love that first picture of fiona laying in the sun...what a cute princess! and i loved seeing your school room from a few posts back--so organized and colorful :) our elementary school is having to meet at a different campus this year because the school nurse intentionally started a fire to burn it down. isn't that crazy?
