My Accent Vlog

Ok, I know some people get easily annoyed when bloggers jump on a bandwagon, but sometimes things are just too neat to pass up! The accent vlog is so interesting to me, so I had to do it, too! I love being able to hear my blog friends' voices. So, here is my vlog! (I say this in the video, but my voice is hoarse right now, so it sounds a little deeper than usual.)

You should make a vlog, too!
Here are the instructions:
Say these words:
Aunt, Route, Wash, Oil, Theater, Iron, Salmon, Caramel, Fire, Water, Sure, Data, Ruin, Crayon, Toilet, New Orleans, Pecan, Both, Again, Probably, Spitting Image, Alabama, Lawyer, Coupon, Mayonnaise, Syrup, Pajamas, Caught

Answer these questions:
What is it called when you throw toilet paper on a house?
What is the bug that when you touch it, it curls into a ball?
What is the bubbly carbonated drink called?
What do you call gym shoes?
What do you say to address a group of people?
What do you call the kind of spider that has an oval-shaped body and extremely long legs?
What do you call your grandparents?
What do you call the wheeled contraption in which you carry groceries at the supermarket?
What do you call it when rain falls while the sun is shining?
What is the thing you change the TV channel with?

If you've done this vlog, let me know! I'd love to watch it!

Happy Weekend!

You are super adorable. ;) And I did expect you to have a heartier accent I think. The funny thing for me is that here, saying route 44 or whatever in relation to a sonic drink would be funny. Although, I totally get that it's just different areas. :)

Cute vlog! I agree with Katie and thought you'd have a little more of an accent too. I hope you are able to rest up this weekend. I've been starting to take vitamins and drink a lot of green tea with honey. I swear that helped last year because I only ended up with a small cold all year. Have a great long weekend!!

I've been hearing about this so much through Twitter (since I'm not caught up on blogs) and I can't wait to listen to them. I love putting a voice to a blog.

For some reason though, I was imagining you with a decently thick Southern accent. Jokes on me : )

I can't detect an accent at all. I would have banked on a lilting Southern accent. However, let me say that you are gorgeous...very dewey and sparkling!

Awwww, what a cutie patooti you are!! I was sooooo wanting you to call the remote a "flipper" lol like we do in house, thought it would be funny coming form you.

i agree with everyone else--no accent except for when you say things like (funnily enough) "accent" or "tennessee." and "tennis." so basically that "en" sound.

i grew up and have spent most of my life in california, and i pronounce things in that list of words almost the same as you (except for a few--data, pajamas, maybe one or two others). i also call throwing toilet paper on a house (not that i've actually referred to it in conversation for years!) as "TPing a house," and i call those big spiders "daddy longlegs." i call bubbly drinks "soda," but my mom grew up in michigan, so for a while when i was a kid i called it "pop," but then i think some other family friend kid teased me about it, so i started calling it soda.

I agree I thought you would have a heartier accent and think I imagined you having a very high pitched voice. Maybe with all the fun bright colors on your blog?

I agree no accent detected.
I'm from Virginia and when it rains when the sun is shining everyone says that it means the devil is beating his wife. :) None of the vlog's I've seen have mentioned this. Maybe it's a crazy VA thing who knows.
